Please note that I am based in Pretoria.
This treatment is a form of micropigmentation, or cosmetic tattooing. During treatment, I will firstly discuss your vision and what options I think will work best for you.
I will then measure and outline the nipple area. Pigment will then be embedded beneath the skin through tattooing to create a natural and beautiful nipple and areola.
The nipple tattoo essentially creates a flat “picture” of a 3D nipple and has no physical dimension, but it can look quite real. I use a specialised technique to create a very soft edge around the areola so that the areola blends beautifully into your skin.
This is a great option for women who have had a bilateral mastectomy or for women who have had a unilateral mastectomy and would like the size and colour matched of their natural nipple on their new breast.
I also work with plastic surgeons to reconstruct a new nipple. The plastic surgeon will reconstruct a new nipple on your breast through using a skin graft. This procedure essentially creates a small “bump”, which is the size of a nipple, on the breast where the nipple should be. After the area has healed I will then tattoo over the grafted skin to create the appearance and colour of a real nipple and areola.
